I'll be teaching at Maine Fiddle Camp for both the June Week and June Weekend in Montville, ME. Currently the August weeks are waitlist only but there is still room in June!
Maine Fiddle Camp is a multi-generational traditional music camp in central Maine. Not just for fiddles, MFC offers instruction in at least 14 instruments plus voice. Instructors emphasize learning and playing by ear. All ages and levels are welcome—from skilled players to people who have never played before. Besides instrument workshops, there are opportunities to perform, sing around the campfire, and “form a band”. There are jam sessions, variety shows, old time country dances and traditional camp activities like swimming and games for the kids!

The Harbor Arts Fair has possibly the most beautiful location for an art fair on the East Coast! The fair takes place in Camden, Maine's historic Harbor Park and Amphitheatre, overlooking Camden Harbor. I'll be playing on Saturday from 10 to noon, with Ethan Tischler and on my own on Sunday from 12:30-2:30 from the steps of the Camden Public Library.
Champion Scottish musicians Owen Kennedy (of Maine) and Seán Heely (of Virginia) bring a dynamic, deeply expressive program to The Hill Arts blending stunning bouzouki and fiddle duets with the full emotional range of Celtic tradition.
Expect lively puirt à beul, haunting slow airs, powerful pipe marches, tragic Gaelic songs, and exhilarating twin fiddling that will have the room buzzing.
Over the past two years, they’ve performed across Maine as a duo, as a trio with Beth Patterson and Kevin Elam, and with the Seán Heely Celtic Band, earning a reputation for performances that are both intimate and electrifying.

Join us in the historic 1794 Shaker Meetinghouse as musicians Owen Kennedy and Seán Heely offer a program of Celtic music in the gorgeous acoustics of the Meetinghouse at 6pm on Friday, July 17th. They'll feature beautiful bouzouki & fiddle duets, lively Scottish puirt à beul, haunting slow airs, mighty pipe marches, tragic Gaelic songs, and wild twin fiddling. Find the Meetinghouse at 707 Shaker Rd, New Gloucester, ME.
If you happen to have the afternoon free ahead of the show, the Shaker Museum with its beautiful grounds and gardens are open from 10-4:30pm.
Tickets for the concert are $25 general admission, with advance tickets encouraged.
I'll be back at the Maine Celtic Celebration this year, this time sharing Scottish tunes and songs with Seán Heely. I'll be leading a session Saturday morning, which will be followed by a workshop with Seán. Come see us on the Main Stage on Saturday at 2:45 or Sunday at 3:15!

From sheep-herding demonstrations to Sean-Nós dancing and singing, the Maine Celtic Celebration has promoted Celtic culture since 2007. On the third weekend each July, Traditional Celtic tunes and songs have filled the air from two stages on the beautiful waterfront of Belfast, Maine. Visitors flock to the Celebration each year for a variety of events such as the Celtic Dog Show, Highland Heavy Games, U.S. Championship Cheese Roll Competition, workshops, exhibits, and living history reenactors, in additional to food and merchandise vendors, and a beer tent.
